The Norman Collectionby Nurit Koniak | 31.08.15
Situated in the heart of Tel Aviv, the Norman Tel Aviv creates a union between two high-end preservation buildings ; the first belonging to the art deco style of architecture, and the second to the eclectic style. Gently echoing the chic of the mandate period, the interior of the hotel is one of the most luxurious to be found in Israel, yet manages to remain understated and elegant.
The hotel has recently won the title “best boutique hotel in the world” by Jetsetter magazine. But regardless of its titles, The Norman managed to create a new standard in Tel Aviv’s booming hotel industry, and mark itself as a timeless icon in the city.
With the growth of the brand comes a new retail line called “The Norman Collection”. It includs fine design collectibles both from the hotel’s public areas and the rooms themselves.
From the fine bed linen to the famous brass ashtray everyone is talking about in town, these items are unique to the hotel’s premium style and quality.
Our team at Koniak Design Studio had the pleasure of designing the packaging for some of these items, like the bespoke scents and candles, created in collaboration with “zielinsky rozen” Perfumery (with its chic shop in Jaffa’s flea market). The studio also collaborated with The artist Johnathan Hopp of Typicalocal, who designed beautiful ceramic pendants for the scent bottles, carrying the the hotel’s logo. The Collection will be soon added to the Norman website, but can also be purchased upon request at the hotel.
